Product Builder Project: Fresh Resource Hub

Helping practitioners find relevant clinical education without searching through an expanding content library.

What I built

I designed and built a customer-facing Resource Hub for Fresh's protocols, training videos and clinical resources.

Practitioners can browse by topic and format, save resources and follow curated learning pathways. They can also ask a question in their own words and receive relevant passages or video moments from Fresh's approved library, with the original source attached.

Problem

Fresh's clinical library was growing across protocols, training videos and other educational material. Browsing worked when a practitioner knew the title or category, but not when they arrived with a practical question.

A question such as "What training covers this treatment technique?" might be answered halfway through a video or inside a section of a protocol. Conventional search could find the file, but not reliably the part that mattered.

The product needed to improve discovery without generating new clinical guidance. Answers still had to come from material reviewed and published by Fresh.

How I built it

  1. I designed two routes into the same library. Browsing serves practitioners who know the topic or format they need; question-based search serves those who know the problem but not the resource name.
  2. I created a shared resource model for titles, topics, formats, audiences and original media. Documents and video transcripts are divided into smaller indexed sections so results can point to a passage or timestamp, not just a whole file.
  3. I constrained the assistant to retrieve from approved Fresh content and return the supporting source. It helps locate existing guidance rather than inventing clinical advice.
  4. I built the customer experience in React Native and connected it to an Ash and Elixir GraphQL API. Resource metadata is stored relationally, while OpenSearch retrieves relevant document sections and transcript excerpts.

Value

The live hub helps practitioners reach trusted clinical guidance when they need it, even when they do not know the title or format of the resource. Instead of searching through an expanding catalogue, they can start with the treatment question they are trying to answer.

  • Guidance at the point of needPractitioners can move from a clinical question to the relevant passage, protocol or video moment without knowing where it was published.
  • More value from existing contentFresh's protocols and training remain discoverable as the library grows, rather than being displaced by whatever was published most recently.
  • A sharper content roadmapQuestions with no useful result show the Clinical team where practitioners need clearer or new education.
